How to create your vision board for 2025
(and Make It Actually Work)

Hi there,
Welcome back to You Got a Minute by LifeAt. If you’re new here, you can get caught up by checking out our blog here!

More than just a pretty collage, a vision board is a powerful tool for clarity and motivation, adding a personal touch to your space (digital or physical). Let’s explore how to create one that’s both meaningful and actionable.
🌟 Why vision boards work
Vision boards aren’t just fun to make—they’re backed by psychology. Seeing your goals displayed visually helps you:
🧘 Clarify your intentions: You focus on what matters most.
🌟 Stay motivated: A daily visual reminder can keep you on track.
👀 In sight, in mind: By setting your goals as your phone lock screen or displaying them in a prominent spot, you ensure that you stay aligned and on track with your aspirations.
And the best part? You can create them from the comfort of your couch, with a cup of tea in hand. You can get started with apps like Canva or Pinterest if you prefer digital, or grab a few magazines & a poster board.
🛋️ Cozy Tips for curating your vision board
Before you start gathering images and quotes, set the scene:
🍃 Choose a calm space: Light a candle or play soothing music to make the process enjoyable.
✂️ Grab your tools: You’ll need a poster board (or Canva if you’re going digital), magazines, scissors, glue, and maybe a few markers.
💭 Reflect first: Spend a few moments journaling or brainstorming what you want from 2025—big dreams, small goals, and everything in between.
If you’re using Canva, explore their templates to create a polished digital vision board you can save as your phone or laptop background. Pinterest also has a newish Collage feature that lets you clip & paste images from across their site.
🎨 How to Create Your Vision Board (Step by Step)
1. Reflect on Your Goals
Think about different areas of your life:
👔 Career: Do you want to land a new job or complete a big project?
🏃 Wellness: Are you aiming for a healthier lifestyle or a balanced routine?
🌱 Personal growth: Maybe you’d like to learn a new skill or read more books.
💞 Relationships: Think about the connections you want to nurture.
Write down 3-5 specific, realistic goals for each area.
2. Gather Visual Inspiration
Look for images, quotes, and symbols that represent your goals. You can:
✂️ Cut them out from magazines or print them from online searches.
📌 Create Pinterest boards to curate ideas.
🖼️ Use Canva’s image library for high quality and fun graphics/fonts.
For example:
🏖️ A beach photo could symbolize your dream vacation. (Hawai’i, maybe?)
📖 A cozy reading nook might inspire your goal to read 12 books this year.
Writing your favorite motto can serve as a daily affirmation. (for example: Slay. Serve. Survive. 👯 )
3. Personalize It
Add your own creative flair! Write out your goals in your handwriting, add doodles, or incorporate materials like washi tape and glitter to make your board feel truly yours. If you’re going digital, I highly recommend popping in some cute graphics (mine has plenty of Pusheens.)

🌱 Making Your Vision Board Work for You
A vision board isn’t a magic wand, but it can guide your actions if you use it wisely. Here’s how:
🐌 Set micro-goals: Break big dreams into smaller, manageable steps.
👓️ Review regularly: Check in with your board monthly to see how you’re doing and adjust as needed.
🫂 Embrace pivots: It’s okay if your goals evolve throughout the year—your vision board can change with you.

Real or AI 🤖
Readers, I come to you with a humble apology - The real image was indeed IMAGE 2, not image 1!! So many of you were correct in your guess: 80%, actually! AI can’t write that well (yet)! Here are some of the comments that showed me the error of my ways:

You’re right: AI has a hard time generating real words or phrases!

This week, you’re joining a bustling city run this weekend—sneakers on, energy high, and crowds all around. As you glance at the sea of runners, something catches your eye… does the scene feel a bit too perfect?
One of these running events is AI-generated—can you guess which one? Look closely at the details: the people, their movements, and even the surroundings. Let’s see if you can pick the real photo from the AI creation!

Which one of these images is REAL? |

Your vision board is a gentle nudge toward what matters most. So grab your tea, set the vibe, and start creating. Here’s to a year of clarity, action, and a whole lot of joy.
lots of love,
rorrie 🌱 & devin 🌎
